LONGPARISH were knocked out of the National Village Knock-out Cup by Eversley – the side they beat by 12 runs in the same stage of the competition two years ago.

Batting first on a damp track they lost wickets at regular intervals but managed to post a competitive 129-7 with Adam Lister hitting 27, Justin Jackman 28 and Barry Blackmore 36.

Sak Sever was the pick of the Eversley attack with 3-8 from nine overs.

Harry Martin and Matt Jackman bowled a superb opening spell for Longparish ,who looked to be favourites as Eversley lost their fifth wicket with only 40 runs on the board.

However, skipper Scott Dyer remained patient and drew the sting from the Longparish attack with an unbeaten 56 to secure victory for his side with nine overs remaining.
