Five members from Andover Triathlon Club competed in the No Limits Fitness Durrington Triathlon on June 8.
This was the second Durrington Triathlon and comprised of a 400m swim in Durrington Swimming Pool, followed by a scenic 11 mile cycle through the picturesque villages of Wiltshire finishing with a three mile run heading out onto the Salisbury Plain.
The event was well organised and sponsored by Heritage of Salisbury VW and supported a local charity, Lucy’s Day Out.
Sarah Fox was first over the line for the club finishing in a fantastic 1:12:29, 31st overall and third in her age group.
Rupert Griffiths was next in 1:13:26, 37th overall and first in his age category and Jan Taplin finished in 1:15:48, 49th overall and first in her age category.
Ash Jackson finished in 1:18:17, Philippa Sumner 1:21:17 and finally Mike Donnelly smiled his way around finishing in 1:39:58.
Club spokesman Donnelly said: “This was a fantastic local event with people from a wide range of abilities.
‘I would recommend this event to anyone novice triathletes”.
