AN ANDOVER poker player will bask in the bright lights of Las Vegas this week as he represents Hampshire in a UK wide competition.
Thomas Simoliunas, who plays at the White Hart, will travel to the entertainment capital of the world on 26 May, to play in Redtooth Poker’s Vegas100 competition.
Simoliunas will represent Hampshire at the competition, taking on 99 other contestants, including last year’s winner Gordon Cuthill, for a chance to win £12,000.
The winner will also be given a £5,000 sponsorship deal.
Players will also have the opportunity to take part in an additional tournament with over $6000 worth of prizes.
Martin Green, managing director of Redtooth Poker, said: “We are delighted to finally secure our 100 players for the trip to Las Vegas.
“All have done remarkably well to reach this stage, progressing through from their local pubs to numerous regional and national tournaments.
“These are the best pub poker players in the UK so they fully deserve this once in a lifetime trip to America.”
