“PUTTING the record straight” is often a matter of interpretation of events by both parties. The breed of the dog is not so important, what is important is how they might behave in certain situations and circumstances.
Last year I was walking my dog in Gallaghers Copse and was subjected to very aggressive behaviour on two separate occasions, one resulting in myself, a 78-year-old man falling to the ground as a result of a vicious attack on our dog by other dogs.
It is wrong to state that “Everybody knows each other and that there are never any issues”.
Experienced dog walkers are well aware that dogs off the lead or even on the lead can be unpredictable when responding to other dogs.
Both dog and I were traumatised by the incident and never walked in that neck of the woods again.
