RESIDENTS of Weyhill Road have received a very brief letter from Test Valley Borough Council’s senior project engineer about the relocation of the street lights on the affected stretch of Weyhill Road.
There are no fewer than 22 street lights on the 700 yards affected from The Chestnut Tree Pub to The Crescent.
The letter went on to advise that “construction will be undertaken in the new year”.
This is most presumptuous of the council because in answer to recent FOI requests, no contract has yet been awarded and my understanding is that it has not even gone out to tender. The council and Hampshire County Council seem determined to carry out this insane bi-directional cycleway come what may.
