I COULD not believe my eyes when I read the figures for parking fines in Barlows Lane and Wellesley Road in the Advertiser.

I live in Barlows Lane and outside my house is a notice saying “permit holders only, 30 mins parking and no return”.

In the afternoons in school time mothers arrive from 2pm waiting for children who come out of school at 3.15pm.

By 2.45pm it is very difficult to get out of your drive or get up or down the road and Wellesley Road is a nightmare because there are kamikaze mothers in 4x4 cars and others coming towards you. Even if you have the right of way they will not give way.

They also block drives and people cannot get out or in and they will not move.

Where are the parking wardens at this time of day?

Everyone in this area is fed up to the teeth with the problem.

I know it is the same around all schools, but eight parking notices for Barlows Lane and one for Wellesley Road is a joke.
