AT CERTAIN times of the day, the junction of Western Avenue, Salisbury Road and Weyhill Road is becoming a frequent and regular traffic frustration and potential danger, due mainly to the belligerent and selfish attitude of drivers entering from Salisbury Road.
Drivers from Weyhill Road are blocked by vehicles crowding onto the roundabout from Salisbury with little consideration for others.
It is particularly frustrating if from Weyhill Road one is attempting to turn onto Salisbury Road – a turn causing no delay to anyone entering from Salisbury Road.
I would suggest that making the whole roundabout into a yellow hashed “do not enter till your exit is clear” area would go a considerable way to alleviating this problem. Regrettably this may require policing in the early stages.
A reminder on both Salisbury and Weyhill roads that drivers should extend the courtesy of taking turns to enter the junction might, hopefully, further improve the situation.
