AS a member of the Hampshire County Council Health and Adult Social Care select committee I am concerned that the health and wellbeing of some of our most vulnerable residents in Hampshire are increasingly at risk, after the budget included no extra funding for social care.
The Budget was an important and missed opportunity to shore up the creaking adult social care system. The Conservative government treat adult social care with contempt and therefore is a much-neglected service, and this is having a knock-on effect on the NHS that is ‘severe and growing.’
