WITH Remembrance Sunday falling on 11 November this year, no doubt more Andoverians than usual will want to attend the service at the Cenotaph, many for the first time.
With this in mind I thought I would give them directions, as it is not that easy to find.
Firstly, it is not – as you would probably expect – in the High Street, despite this being the place it was intended to stand.
It is actually up in St Mary’s churchyard, where the graveyard used to be (there is no signage, so you may have to follow others).
For those of you who, like me, were brought up being told not to tread on actual graves when visiting a cemetery, the service might be a somewhat uncomfortable experience for you.
