MY apologies to Sheila Hindle, I had not wished to cause offence and only wished to make a light hearted jibe at the chief executive of Nissan Cars after his threat to relocate to Europe when we leave the EU.
Britain’s exports to the EU are considerably less than our imports from the EU – Nissan, as well as the EU, would not wish to lose such a valuable customer.
Nissan, along with most other businesses, are there to make a profit.
The likelihood of Nissan going to the enormous expense of closing down their UK plant and then building another in Europe, simply to spite Britain is very slim indeed!
I suspect that the Nissan CEO has had his wrist slapped by his Japanese employers who, no doubt, are more pragmatic than their CEO and less likely to throw a hissy-fit because Britain had the good sense not to toe the Brussels line.
