I WRITE to praise the young people of Andover.
One Monday evening while cycling home from town I came across a group of about six or so young people at the sports centre side of the Junction Road underpass.
It became apparent very quickly the there was also an elderly gentleman in some distress.
In fact what had happened was this chap had fallen and injured his head and face and these young people had come across him and stopped to help. They had recovered him from the bushes where he had fallen, administered basic first aid and had called an ambulance.
So for those people that think the worst of Andover’s young people – think again. The vast majority are good people who are more than willing to help others when needed.
Well done to those involved.
It makes me proud to be and Andoverian.
