LAST week our family, like many others I am sure, got caught up in the TV programme ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ which has started up again on Saturday evenings.

To be honest, I am not always a big fan of shows like this one, but the more I watched, the more I was amazed at the incredibly talented people that were on display. From magicians, to dancing groups, to choirs, to acrobats, to singers … it was all there and much of it was really good.

Sometimes when we see other people with special talents we often look on them and wonder why we can’t do similar things. We might ask ourselves, “Where is my special talent?” or “Why can’t I do that?”

But God says something different. God says that all of us have unique talents and gifts that He has placed inside of us and all we have to do is to discover them and to use them. God’s story in the Bible repeats this over and over again. We are told that God knit us together in our mother’s wombs, that he has special plans and a purpose for all of us, that we have a unique contribution to bring and that He can work through us for good.

So next time you are watching someone with an incredible talent and are tempted to wonder where your special talent is, just remember it is there, God has given it to you.

You just need to figure out what it is and use it!
